I am technically classified as a Sophomore but I earned enough credit for Junior status after Fall Semester and I will graduate at the end of next year. Can I come to the Prom? Yes. Just have your guidance counselor e-mail Mrs. Schulze to let her know of your change in credits. Pay for a ticket and you are all set to come to the Prom!
Do I have to pay more if my date doesn't go to CHHS? The cost of a date ticket will be the same as the student ticket. See above. Date tickets will be $75 in January through February 28. Starting March 1, date tickets will be $80.
Do I have to pay more if my date is a freshman or sophomore at CHHS? No. See above. The cost of a date ticket will be the same as the student ticket.
Is it OK to come to the Prom solo? Absolutely!
What if I have a fine? Your prom ticket will be withheld until you clear all fines with the school. This includes media center, cafeteria, parking, and textbook.
Is there a dress code for the Prom? Yes. This is a formal event and the attire should reflect the formality of the event.
Will there be chaperones at the Prom? Absolutely. There is a very visible adult presence at the Prom. In 2018, this included the following: uniformed Gwinnett Police Officers, CHHS administrators, and CHHS teachers/staff.
Will food be available at the Prom? Proof of Pudding is the caterer for this event. There will be light salty and sweet snacks available for students along with beverages.
What type of entertainment will be at the Prom? CHHS Alum Daniel Espeute with Espeute Entertainment will provide DJ services. Daniel brings an outstanding sound system, laser/light show, and video panels that come together to make for a fantastic atmosphere!
I'm picking my child up after the Prom, what time should I be there? The prom is over at 11:00pm. Please arrive no later than 11:00pm.
Does CHHS sponsor any sort of after prom function? No. Many families host after-parties for their student but CHHS does not sponsor an after party. Please note that once you leave prom, you will not be allowed back into prom. There is no readmission.
When can I pick up my ticket? Ticket distribution will be in the gym lobby during 5th Period (A-D) on March 4-7. You must have your photo ID to pick up your ticket. No tickets will be given during Friday, March 8 as we are occupied making final preparations for the event.
